Tuesday Treasures: AT-A-GLANCE

AT-A-GLANCE began in 1934 when Nascon Service, Inc., based in New York, created and trademarked the first AT-A-GLANCE planners. These planners quickly became a staple for organizing daily schedules and tasks. After the brand made its way through a series of buy-ups and mergers between 1940-1960, Cullman Ventures acquired the AT-A-GLANCE business in 1988, integrating it into its Keith Clark division. This move allowed the brand to diversify its offerings, manufacturing a wide variety of diary and calendar products.

Everything changed in 1997, when Keith Clark adopted its most popular brand name, AT-A-GLANCE, as the company identity. This rebranding effort solidified AT-A-GLANCE’s position as a leader in the planning and organizing industry.

In a continued success streak, Dayton, Ohio-based Mead Corp., a publicly held company, purchased the AT-A-GLANCE Group from Cullman Ventures for $550 million in 1999. This acquisition included the umbrella AT-A-GLANCE brand and its sub-brands such as Day Minder, Standard Diary, Timeline, and Day Dream, opening new avenues for market reach and further expanding the name recognition of the brand. In 2001, Mead merged with Westvaco to form MeadWestvaco. This merger combined the strengths of both companies, enhancing their ability to innovate and deliver high-quality products.

The most recent chapter in AT-A-GLANCE’s history began in 2012 when ACCO Brands Corporation merged with MeadWestvaco’s Consumer & Office Products business. This merger brought together well-known school and office product brands, including AT-A-GLANCE and Day Runner, under one roof, ensuring continued growth and innovation.

AT-A-GLANCE has a rich history of innovation and growth, consistently adapting to meet the needs of its customers. From its humble beginnings in 1934 to its status as a leading brand in the planning and organizing industry, AT-A-GLANCE continues to help people manage their time effectively and efficiently.
