During the month of January, North America sites participated in a month of service to honor Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Our locations embraced this opportunity with enthusiasm, showing immense participation within local communities.
Our Boonville and Sidney manufacturing locations held blood drives, donating 51 units of lifesaving blood. Some locations chose to prioritize the distribution of knowledge, like Lake Zurich and Blair. Lake Zurich donated hundreds of books to Bernie’s Book Bank, which provides books to children in the Chicagoland area. Blair raised $400 for their local library to purchase new books!
Still others, like Kettering, donated food. Employees donated three barrels of meals and food items for the local Food Bank. Kettering also joined Kensington in writing Letters Against Isolation, a campaign to help brighten the days of assisted-living seniors. Kensington also participated in CareerVillage for Professionals, where they had the chance to share career advice with students and inspire the next generation. Mississauga went a different, but equally important route, and donated 20 boxes of toys, clothes, and other items to Diabetes Canada.
We are so proud of the generosity of our employees, and the eagerness with which our locations celebrated MLK’s legacy of building community roots
